Bryan Fischer Threatens Violence over Equality

In typical looney bin fashion, a group of religious conservative speakers have spoken out against the jailing of Rowan County Kentucky County Clerk, Kim Davis. Ms. Davis was jailed earlier in the week for refusing to follow a Federal Court order. She was charged with contempt.

Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas, was one of the first to speak out. On his Twitter account he said, “Immediately release Kim Davis from federal custody. Exercising Religious Liberty should never be a crime in America. This is a direct attack on our God-given, constitutional rights.”

Obviously, Huckabee was misinformed. Kim was not jailed for exercising her religion. She was charged with not following a judge’s order. The record shows that the court tried to make several accommodations to help her remain employed by having her staff issue marriage licenses. However, Ms. Davis vowed to interfere.

Bryan Fischer, went on the radio to threaten violence over this week’s events. He said on his radio talk show,  “our voice will not be heard, because the media belongs to the Antichrist. … We’re at the point now where there must be a massive national upheaval. If we cannot have it, I will predict, I will prophesy to you, there will be blood and it will be massive.”

“There will be blood and it will be massive.” If these words incite any sort of violence towards LGBTQ people in this country, Bryan Fischer should be jailed and charged as a conspirator in any violence committed.
